For more than 60 years, we’ve empowered individuals living with spinal cord injuries and other disabilities, supporting them to lead connected, independent lives.
With a dedicated team of more than 600 staff across multiple locations, including metropolitan Adelaide and regional offices in the South-East, Mid-North, Eyre Peninsula, and the Riverland, estara has built a strong reputation for exceptional care and innovation.
Following the departure of our long-serving CEO late last year, we are now seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead this purpose-driven organisation. As CEO, you will report directly to the Board and be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, financial, and cultural leadership of estara, ensuring the ongoing sustainability of our vital services.

Key performance areas include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute a clear strategy, aligned with estara’s vision and purpose, in collaboration with the Board.
- Lead the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services across all areas of the organisation.
- Provide strategic and operational oversight, ensuring the effective and sustainable management of resources and financial performance.
- Inspire and guide a diverse team of professionals in a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Champion governance, compliance, and risk management, ensuring the highest standards of operational integrity.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships, representing estara as an ambassador within the community and with all levels of government.
You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, management or a related field (essential).
- Proven executive leadership experience in a complex, client-focused service delivery environment.
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional strategic and commercial acumen with a proven track record of driving organisational growth and transformation.
- A deep commitment to inclusion and improving the lives of people with disabilities.
- A highly authentic leadership style and excellent communication skills.
- A background in Not-for-Profit or Human Services environment (desirable).
