Flinders Foundation is seeking an experienced and purpose-driven Chair to lead a community of supporters, researchers and healthcare professionals working together to improve lives across South Australia and beyond. Flinders Foundation connects generosity with care and research, ensuring breakthroughs move from the lab to the bedside, and patients receive the support they need when it matters most.
Working alongside partners including the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network and Flinders University, the Foundation funds life-changing research, vital equipment and enhanced patient care, making possible what cannot be achieved through public funding alone.
For nearly 50 years, the Foundation has helped to change and save lives contributed more than $75 million to healthcare outcomes and invests millions into the South Australia health system and health and medical research projects annually.
As Chair, you will:
- Lead the Board in strategy, governance and performance to shape a bold vision for Flinders Foundation in the South Australian health landscape
- Foster a united values led and high-performing board culture
- Champion the Foundation as a trusted and respected voice with donors, partners and government
- Guide the organisation through its next phase of growth and impact and contribute to building connections with the philanthropic community to make greater impact
- Drive engagement between the Board and Flinders Foundation team
You are a highly experienced board leader with:
- A proven track record of delivering impactful, measurable outcomes for foundations or comparable purpose-driven organisations
- Extensive board and/or Chair experience with a preference for AICD qualifications
- Credibility with senior stakeholders across business, government and philanthropy
- Strategic and financial acumen, ideally in not-for-profit or purpose-driven, genuine commitment environments
- Commitment to improving health outcomes
