SAHMRI is South Australia’s flagship not-for-profit health and medical research institute and is committed to inspired research leading to better health for all.

Our client is seeking high performing candidates for the role of Head of Human Resources (HR) that will provide strategic and operational leadership across the human resources function, supporting the organisation’s long-term objectives through effective people management, policy development and cultural transformation.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this crucial role will work closely with the Executive Director, the Executive and Senior Management teams and other staff and stakeholders at SAHMRI and will act as a trusted advisor ensuring alignment of HR strategy with business priorities.

  • Strategic HR leadership
  • People Operations and Compliance
  • Employee Relations and Industrial Matters
  • Performance Management and Culture
  • Talent Development and Workforce Planning
  • Employee Engagement and Wellbeing
  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
  • Systems, Reporting and Projects

As the successful candidate, you will have proven experience in a senior or executive HR leadership role with a demonstrated track record of providing high-level advice to executive teams across the full spectrum of people and culture functions.

The ability to develop, lead and implement a broad range of contemporary HR and organisational development strategies, programs, policies and operational practices to successfully support the objectives of the business is essential, as is possessing a strong understanding and knowledge of employment law, employee relations, WHS and compliance legislation and practices.

You will have the capability to foster team performance and growth through inclusive leadership and continuous development and be able to effectively support the delivery of enterprise-wide change management initiatives.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and mediate effectively are a “must”. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline are also highly desirable for this role.
