Career Transition Services

Due to the VUCA elements of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, there is quite often a need for organisations to restructure or reconfigure their business models to become more efficient moving forwards, resulting in redundancy or role displacement of an employee or groups of employees.

In a business world that is characterised by constant change and moving parts, it is crucial to provide support to people who are affected by this change, both for their own mental health and wellbeing as well as the reputation of the business.

Deciding Which Program to Select

Many outplacement programs can be aligned to particular roles or levels:

VUCA Basic:

These shorter programs tend to suit companies or individuals seeking shorter yet tailored programs, e.g. administrative staff, “blue collar” employees.

VUCA Standard:

Most suitable for companies or individuals seeking tailored mid-term programs that cater for more specific and particular work; can often be suitable for technical, team leader and supervisor levels.

VUCA Premium / Platinum:

Ideal for companies or individuals seeking tailored long-term programs that cater for highly intensive and / or extensive work; can often be suitable for Managers, Senior Managers and Executives.

Other individuals, regardless of level of role, may require a longer-term program for reasons such as being at their most recent employer for a long period of time or possessing some potential personal or technical barriers that may delay a smooth transition into the next phase of their career.

Workshops

Workshops can be a very effective way to provide support in small group formats during periods of change and uncertainty leading up to restructures or reconfigurations or when individual programs cannot be provided due to budget constraints etc.

On-Site Support

Notifying employees of their role redundancy is typically a very stressful experience for those receiving the news as well as for those delivering it.

The assistance of a VUCA Consultant onsite during this time can assist in a number of ways:

E

Alleviates and reduces various risks that are typically associated with emotional situations such as stress, uncertainty and anger.

E

Assists in enabling the employer to focus on the delivery of key organisational responsibilities and messages and not getting trapped in emotional discussions which can escalate and “go off track”.

E

Aids in mitigating reputational damage of the organisation.

E

Can act as a safety net or buffer between an individual hearing of their redundancy and their interaction with others.

E

Enables the employee to be introduced to VUCA consultant who will be assisting them with their outplacement program moving forwards; can begin to think about “what next”.
