– Key Strategic Role for a Quality Aged Care Provider

Lutheran Homes Barossa is one of the larger aged care facilities outside the metropolitan area in South Australia. Located in the scenic Barossa Valley, we offer 130 independent living units and a modern Residential Care Facility, which features a dedicated dementia wing.

The CEO reports to the Board and is responsible for managing the business effectively. This includes implementing all policies approved by the Board and ensuring that services and facilities are provided to residents in alignment with the Mission Statement and Christian ethos.

As the successful candidate, you will be a values-based leader with a deep and genuine commitment to the Home’s purpose.

You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in the effective leadership of health care services, especially for the aged, with exemplary judgement, strong business acumen, and demonstrated good governance.

With strong leadership, organisational and planning skills and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, you will demonstrate a contemporary understanding of the aged care sector.

You will be well informed about current trends and potential future developments within the industry.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Optimising the Home’s operational capacity to ensure premium quality service delivery that meets the needs of residents.
  • Providing researched information and documentation to the Board, along with recommendations for policy decisions; includes preparing, presenting annual budgets and regularly supplying the Board with accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Providing strong leadership, fostering effective communication and engagement with staff, supporting managers in coordinating operations efficiently, ensuring adequate staffing in the Home, and promoting appositive environment throughout the organisation.
  • Overseeing and leading capital infrastructure projects carried out by the organisation.
