Lutheran Homes Barossa is one of the larger Aged Care facilities outside the metropolitan area in South Australia, situated in the picturesque township of Tanunda in the heart of the Barossa Valley. With 200 employees, Lutheran Homes Barossa offers a high standard of independent living accommodation in 140 units, and a state-of-the-art 120 room Residential Aged Care Facility.
Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager is central to providing strategic leadership for the organisation’s corporate and financial governance. This leadership role will identify and implement strategies which position Lutheran Homes Barossa for growth and stability aligned with the future direction of the organisation. Sound knowledge and experience with corporate governance will provide a good foundation for the direct relationship with the CEO, Lutheran Homes Barossa Board and Sub-Committees.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing all financial accounting and reporting, procedures and internal controls
- Supervising Payroll, Purchasing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, CIM and other general functions.
- Preparing the annual organisation budget, coordinating all department budgets and ensuring that associated expenditures adhere to legal and budgetary requirements.
- Ensuring that balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis, and that systems and controls are in place to satisfy all audit requirements
- Preparing and reconciling profit and loss accounts and cash flow statements
- Managing output from the Finance team to ensure that deadlines and timetables are met, including monthly reports for the Finance and Audit Committee and the Board
- Overseeing systems accounting including IT systems, online banking and the ATO business portal.
- Attending and advising the Finance Committee and Board meetings
As the successful candidate, you will be tertiary and CA / CPA qualified and have previous experience in a similar role within a medium-to-large sized, not for profit / charitable business. Ideally, you will display demonstrated capability in working with, advising and supporting Boards as well as running and overseeing an entire finance function including month end reporting, year-end reporting and cash flow management.
On a personal level, you will be well organised with an ability to develop and nurture productive and respectful working relationships with people at all levels. You will also be an excellent communicator who can tailor messaging accordingly to suit the audience. Excellent problem-solving skills are essential as is a strong commitment to the provision of high-level customer service and respecting the confidentiality of information relating to staff and clients.
